Amy Henderson

I'm a women's health researcher in London. I started Wegovy myself, then built the honest, evidence-based GLP-1 resource I couldn't find anywhere else.

Why I started GLP-1 Guide

I spent about four years covering GLP-1 medications for women's health publications before I ever injected one myself. I knew the trial data inside out. What I didn't expect was how hard it would be, as an actual patient, to get a straight answer about anything.

When I started Wegovy through Voy, I had the same questions everyone has. Why does the nausea hit so hard in week two? Is the hair shedding permanent? Which clinic is actually worth the money, and which one is just a slick checkout? The clinic websites wouldn't tell me. The forums were a mix of fear and miracle stories. The honest, evidence-based answer was missing.

So I built it. GLP-1 Guide is the resource I wish I'd had on day one: what the research really says, what to expect month by month, and where to go without getting sold to. I'm not a doctor, and I'll always tell you when something needs one. But I read the studies, I've lived the side effects, and I write it all down plainly.

What we stand for

Four principles decide everything that goes on this site.

Evidence first

Every claim traces back to a clinical trial, a regulator, or a named source. If the evidence is thin, I say so.

Plain English

No jargon, no hype, no clickbait. Just what the research actually says, written the way I'd explain it to a friend.

UK focused

Prices in pounds, NHS pathways, UK prescribing rules and the clinics you can actually use. Not repurposed US content.

Independent

Affiliate links and clinic referrals fund the site, but they never change a ranking or a recommendation. Ever.

How we make money

GLP-1 Guide is free to read, and I'd like to keep it that way. Two things fund it: affiliate commissions on the supporting products I recommend (supplements, skincare, testing, kit), and referral fees when readers choose one of the clinics and services I've compared.

Here's my promise. The money never decides the recommendation. Clinic rankings reflect my own assessment of cost, monitoring and turnaround, not who pays the most. If I think a cheaper option is better, I say so. If a product isn't worth it, it doesn't go on the site. You can read the full affiliate disclosure any time.

Our editorial standards

  • Cited research. Claims are backed by peer-reviewed studies, regulators (MHRA, NICE, NHS) or named clinical sources, not marketing copy.
  • Amy is not a doctor. Everything here is information, not medical advice. Decisions about prescription medication belong between you and a qualified prescriber.
  • Corrections welcome. If something is wrong or out of date, email me and I'll fix it and note the change. Medicine moves fast and so do we.
  • Updated dates. Guides carry the month they were last reviewed so you know how current the pricing and guidance are.
